It began 27 years ago, when they went to Paris for their honeymoon. They were captivated and ultimately inspired by Paris's fantastic neighborhood shops. R.H Ballard adored how they combined everything needed for a home into a single, exquisitely designed space. A small gallery space in Little Washington, VA, where their mother lived, was offered to their husband, Robert H. Ballard, who had been in the art business for more than 40 years. R.H Ballard bought a 1930s building on Main Street, moved into the apartment upstairs, and began their marriage and business partnership after the art and rug gallery saw rapid success.
