Dr. AnnMarie Thomas, founder and director of Playful Learning Lab, and undergraduate researchers, including Matthew Schmidtbauer and Sam Johnson, have created a way to teach circuit and engineering concepts through games using homemade conductive and insulating dough. While completing his studies and working full time, Schmidtbauer developed the business of Squishy Circuits Store, LLC. He found a reliable supplier of safe, quality products and began building these kits in his garage and selling them to educators and creators around the world. Ultimately, the demand for these kits has grown enough to allow Schmidtbauer to focus entirely on Squishy Circuits.
