Since 1981, they have been offering industrial customers tools. In that same year, Wisconsin's The Spoilage Cutter Company was founded to sell a patented safety cutter for separating the outer layers of film or paper from a roll. The Zepher Model 102 was the name of this tool. The Zepher 105, a larger tool for the same purpose, was developed a few years later. Martor in Solingen, Germany, began importing safety tools for their customers to resell at the beginning of the 1990s. In 1995, they were given exclusive representation status because of the growing demand for these tools and their expanding sales of these products in the United States. They changed their company's name to Martor. In early 1999 as their sales of their unique line of outstanding products continued to grow.
