In the 1960s, after the death of the original owner, the employees of this store had two options: withdraw money or take the name of the store. Mr. Luis Pereira is a long-time employee of this candy store. He took Dunmore Candy Kitchen's name and has since started the whole family's love of chocolate. Perella worked tirelessly for 12 hours during the holidays, turning the candy kitchen into a place to eat homemade chocolates in northeastern Pennsylvania. Eventually, Louis handed over the business to his son Charlie, who will continue the tradition of candy making until the summer of 2009 when he sold the candy kitchen to Mrs. Laura Reuther. Mrs. Ruther is from Moscow and is the mother of three children.
