Ron van Maarschalkerweerd Borg was born in Holland on May 13, 1971, and Charles van Maarschalkerweerd Borg was born in Malta on May 29, 1968. Ron studied economics and human resource management, while Charles apprenticed with family who were skilled dressmakers when he was a small lad. Ron went to Malta shortly after Charles and Ron first met in 1992 in Amsterdam. Most of the designers and creators of C&R are self-taught, and they have made the company Malta's top fashion house. Charles & Ron first company to be inspired by Malta and its environs was Charles & Ron, who are considered pioneers in the Maltese fashion sector. Charles & Ron designers have routinely presented their collections during New York Fashion Week and Los Angeles Fashion Week since 2014, and they are frequent visitors to fashion weekends all throughout Europe.
