Burning Branch Studio funds are used to start and support alternative art therapy programs in local treatment facilities for substance abuse. As a feature of the program, the studio is used for their projects alongside in house meetings. When they use the studio for therapy, they want to help people who are just starting to recover make connections and develop social and verbal communication. Using the medium of glass as an additional medium for communicating thoughts, feelings, and ideas, the program also serves as a teaching tool for a new trade, skill, or hobby to help replace unhealthy behaviors.
