Blue Mountain Brewery is located in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia, it opened in 2007 as the region's first rural winery. Founders Taylor and Mandi Smack and Matt Nucci opened Blue Mountain Brewery in 2007, and their vision is to bring the brewery experience out of the normal hustle and bustle of the urban environment. At the end of 1999, Taylor Smack interned at South Street Brewery and began his brewing career. He then moved to Chicago and entered the Siebel Institute of Technology.
