Steven Rice started his career in the food industry when he was a teenager. He found his love for food when worked as a line cook at his father's deli in Los Angeles for about 10 years. While working at his father's deli, he got his Bachelors of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Southern California. While at USC, Authentic Foods's founder furthered his knowledge of food chemistry through working on various food-related research projects. To continue his food education, Steve mastered different culinary classes from some of the most famous chefs of the time. Once he finished his undergraduate education and his culinary education, he opened his own restaurant in the Farmer's Market in Los Angeles. After about 15 years' owning his own thriving restaurant, Steve decided that he wanted to make a difference in more people's lives, so he decided to help those who could not eat wheat or gluten by using his culinary knowledge. As a result, Authentic Foods was born in 1993.
