Since its inception in the early 1970s, A Ga Ming Golf facilities have grown steadily over the years. Starting with the nine-hole facility and growing only in 1986, former owner Bill Siebenthaller and his close friend Chick Harbert (1954 PGA champion) pooled A Ga Ming Golf talents to take the course to new heights. By rerouting the original nine-hole layout and adding nine more, they created a challenging golf course layout with some of the most spectacular views in northern Michigan. During this time, the original clubhouse stands on one of the hotel's highest points with unforgettable views of the golf course, Torch Lake and the surrounding countryside. Many things remained the same over the next decade until the property was bought by its current ownership, which brought new energy and enthusiasm to the club.
